A record number of autonomous vehicles from all over the country were involved in car-related accidents. Initial reports say that upwards of three hundred self-driving vehicles were involved in collisions resulting in sixty-two fatalities and over two hundred injuries. The self-driving feature is typically synonymous with the current trend of electric vehicles. While most occupants of the vehicles only received minor injuries due to the advanced safety features, the resulting fatalities appear to be that of pedestrians, business patrons, and occupants of non-autonomous vehicles. So far, the incidents have not been linked to one particular car manufacturer, make or model. The manufacturers have yet to comment on the incidents, but leading professionals in the technology world are pointing to a faulty software update as the culprit.
